Writers are a funny bunch. We come in all shapes and sizes but there are many common traits (some would say flaws) that we all have.
A love of hot drinks, day dreaming about what our characters are up to and pretending to write, are things we all do at some point. We get away with sitting down doing nothing because we call this "procrastinating" a key tool every writer needs to perfect.
Procrastination takes many forms. Whether its watching to many YouTube videos or wasting time on twitter we are all guilty of overusing this word to defend our actions.
If you happen to meet a writer in the street please be kind and courteous as should you be inappropriate you may end up in their next book, getting eaten by an infestation of rampant mice.
Our imaginations are so vast that ordinary people would be astonished and horrified to see what goes on in our minds. Almost every situation can spark creativity for any kind of story.
Although we have our quirks, the worlds we escape to, the procrastination helps us navigate the every day world at the same time as producing stunning works of art. So if you see a writer don't point and stare, just read the books that we have poured our souls into.
